Stones Cabinet of Curiosities

I started this blog with the intention of cataloging inspiring and exciting art and artists. However, as I researched art that inspired me, I became more interested in the forces that gather to cause art to occur in the first place. Inspiration leaves fragments which become nuclei, attracting ideas, or neural energy, which builds to a tipping point, erupting into a new thing which creates more fragments.

The scientific name for this type of energy gathering is “Nucleation”. Nucleation is a thermodynamic process in which a small particle becomes a nexus around which tiny bubbles begin to stick and gather, until an event occurs to upset the delicate balance of gathering and sticking, thus releasing their combined energy, occasionally in a violent manner.

It is with these formative nuclei, and the angels and beasts that they become, that I fill this cabinet. Examine them, but be aware that they are not passive specimens. They are seeds which, under the right circumstances, may explode.
